Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- Dash cayenne
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon softened butter
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 6 cups shredded cabbage
- 1 red or green bell pepper, seeded and diced
- 1 cup chopped green onion
Instructions
- Put egg, sugar, vinegar, salt, mustard and cayenne in a small saucepan; whisk until smooth. Mix in cornstarch and cream together. Whisk into egg mixture. Cook over medium heat whisking constantly until mixture thickens, about 1 minute. Remove from heat. Whisk in butter and cool. Mix in mayonnaise.
- Combine shredded vegetables in a large bowl; pour over dressing. Mix thoroughly. Cover and refrigerate several hours. Mix again before serving.
