Ingredients
- 6 tablespoons soy sauce
- 4 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 1/2 tablespoons minced fresh ginger root
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 lb. mushrooms, sliced
- 1/4 cup scallions
- 1 1/2 lbs. beef round steak, cut into thin strips
- 8 oz. snow peas
- 1 small can water chestnuts
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar and cornstarch. Set aside.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Cook and stir ginger, garlic, mushrooms, water chestnuts and scallions for 30 seconds.
- Add the steak and cook for 2 minutes or until evenly browned. Add the snow peas and cook for an additional 3 minutes. Add the soy sauce mixture; bring to boil, stirring constantly. Lower heat and simmer until the sauce thickens, about 1 minute.
- Serve immediately with cooked rice.
